Για τη δεύτερη του έκδοση, το Smile from Paris to Paros εξελίσσεται σε μια γιορτή της διεθνούς τζαζ, με την εκρηκτική φωνή της Ειρήνης Αραμπατζή, μιας από τις ανερχόμενες τζαζ ερμηνεύτριες της Ελλάδας, την Τετάρτη 27 Αυγούστου 2025, στις 21:00, στο Θέατρο του Πάρκου Άη-Γιάννης Δέτης.
Υπό τη διεύθυνση του Johan Farjot, η Χορωδία Δωματίου του Πανεπιστημίου PSL θα ταξιδέψει σε έναν παγκόσμιο ηχητικό χάρτη — από τα κλασικά του Μπρόντγουεϊ μέχρι τους λάτιν ρυθμούς και τη μεσογειακή αύρα. Ο Johan θα βρίσκεται επίσης στο πιάνο, μαζί με τον καταξιωμένο μπασίστα Marc Buronfosse, προσθέτοντας ζεστασιά και βάθος στη βραδιά.
Βιογραφικά
Johan Farjot
Πιανίστας, συνθέτης, μαέστρος, τζαζίστας και συνδιευθυντής του Ensemble Contraste, ο Johan Farjot εκπαιδεύτηκε στα Ανώτατα Κονσερβατόρια του Παρισιού και της Λυών. Διαθέτει εκτενή δισκογραφία, έχει λάβει πολυάριθμα βραβεία και διατηρεί ένα ξεχωριστό και πολυσχιδές πρόγραμμα συναυλιών. Η καριέρα του ως συνθέτης, η οποία έχει τιμηθεί διπλά από την Ακαδημία Charles Cros, βασίζεται σε μακροχρόνιες μουσικές συνεργασίες με ορχήστρες, χορωδίες, καλλιτέχνες της όπερας και σολίστ.
Ειρήνη Αραμπατζή
Ερμηνεύτρια, τραγουδοποιός και πολυοργανίστρια από την Ελλάδα με βάση το Λονδίνο. Γεννημένη στη Θεσσαλονίκη, ξεκίνησε το μουσικό της ταξίδι μεγαλώνοντας στις Βρυξέλλες. Εμπνευσμένη από τους ελληνικούς δίσκους των γονιών της, άρχισε να απορροφά παραδοσιακούς ήχους, ενώ μετά από 12 χρόνια κλασικών μαθημάτων πιάνου, ανακάλυψε την τζαζ και τον αυτοσχεδιασμό. Η μουσική παρέμεινε βασικό στοιχείο της ζωής της όταν επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα για να σπουδάσει νομικά, ενώ παράλληλα φοιτούσε στο Ωδείο Athenaeum με ειδίκευση στο τζαζ τραγούδι. Έπειτα από εμφανίσεις σε όλη τη χώρα και συνεργασίες με καλλιτέχνες όπως ο Φοίβος Δεληβοριάς, η Μαρίνα Σάττι και οι Φωνές, μετακόμισε στη Σκωτία για να συνεχίσει τις σπουδές της στο Βασιλικό Ωδείο της Σκωτίας και συνεργάστηκε με καλλιτέχνες όπως οι Corto.Alto, η Scottish National Jazz Orchestra και ο Fergus McCreadie. Από το 2018 στο Λονδίνο, άρχισε να δουλεύει τα δικά της τραγούδια. Το πρώτο της EP με τίτλο “Songs for them”, είναι μια συλλογή από προσωπικά αλλά αισιόδοξα τραγούδια, που παρήγαγε μαζί με τον αδερφό της Μανώλη. Στο Λονδίνο ίδρυσε τη δική της τοπική μουσική σχολή “Groove Lane”, ετοιμάζει το επόμενο EP της και συνεργάζεται συστηματικά με τον Abel Selaocoe και τα φωνητικά σύνολα παραδοσιακής και λαϊκής μουσικής Idrisi & Alkanna Graeca.
Χορωδία Δωματίου PSL
Όλοι οι τραγουδιστές ανήκουν στην Ορχήστρα και Χορωδία του Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), από το Πανεπιστήμιο Paris Dauphine και άλλες διακεκριμένες σχολές του κέντρου του Παρισιού. Αποτελούν μέλη της Κύριας Χορωδίας και Ορχήστρας, και έχουν τραγουδήσει σε μερικούς από τους πιο εμβληματικούς χώρους της πόλης, όπως το Invalides, η Σορβόννη, το Théâtre des Champs Élysées και το Bal Blomet, ένα διάσημο τζαζ κλαμπ.

Embark on a captivating journey through jazz-infused melodies from around the globe! For its second edition, Smile from Paris to Paros evolves into a celebration of international jazz, featuring the vibrant voice of Irini Arabatzi, one of Greece’s rising jazz talents, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 21:00, at the Theater of the Park Aï-Yannis Detis.
Under the direction of Johan Farjot, the PSL Chamber Choir will explore a world of sound — from Broadway classics to Latin rhythms and Mediterranean flair. Johan will also be at the piano, joined by renowned bassist Marc Buronfosse, adding warmth and depth to the evening.
Biographies
Johan Farjot
Pianist, composer, conductor, jazzman, co-director of the Ensemble Contraste, Johan Farjot trained at the Conservatoires Supérieurs of Paris and Lyon. He has built up an extensive discography, winning numerous awards, as well as maintaining a distinguished and wide-ranging concert schedule. His career as a composer, doubly honored by the Académie Charles Cros, is supported by long-lasting musical friendships with orchestras, choirs, opera artists and instrumentalists.
Irini Arabatzi
She is a singer/songwriter & multi-instrumentalist from Greece based in London. Born in Thessaloniki, she began her music journey while growing up in Brussels. Inspired by the Greek records of her parents she began to absorb traditional folk sounds but also to discover jazz and improvisation after 12 years of classical piano lessons. Music remained a vital ingredient of her life when she returned to Greece to study law, while also attending the Athenaeum Conservatory studying jazz vocals. After performing all around the country and with some of its most famous artists such as Fivos Delivorias, Marina Satti & Fonés and more she moved to Scotland to continue her education at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland and collaborated with artists like Corto.Alto, Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and Fergus McCreadie. After arriving in London in 2018 she began working on her own songs. Her debut EP “Songs for them”, is a collection of intimate yet uplifting songs, produced alongside her brother Manolis. In London, she has created her own local music school "Groove Lane", is working on her next EP and collaborates regularly with Abel Selaocoe and the folk/traditional vocal ensembles Idrisi & Alkanna Graeca.
PSL Chamber Choir
All singers belong to the Paris Sciences et Lettres Orchestra and Choir if PSL, from the Paris University of Dauphine, and other Schools in the center of Paris, very famous Parisian universities. They are part of the Main Choir & Orchestra, and they are singing in most of the prestigious places in Paris, like Invalides, Sorbonne, Theatre des Champs Élysées and Bal Blomet, a famous Jazz Club.
