Συναυλία στο Πάρκο Πάρου: «Ρίζες της Μεσογείου»

Τα Ριζά έρχονται με δύο αιώνων μελωδίες, με τους σκοπούς και τις μικρές μεγάλες ιστορίες τους – από τα νησιά της Ελλάδας μέχρι τα παράλια της Μικρασίας, από τα βοσκοτόπια μέχρι τα αστικά σαλόνια, μια ανάγνωση της παραδοσιακής μουσικής στη θεμελιώδη συνθήκη της: η φωνή αφηγείται, οι μουσικοί συνοδεύουν. Ο ιδιαίτερος ήχος τους με λιτή ενορχήστρωση και ακουστικό χαρακτήρα, διαμορφώνεται από τη φωνή του Θεμιστοκλή Καρποδίνη, το πιάνο του Κωστή Ζουλιάτη και το κοντραμπάσο του Πέτρου Λαμπρίδη, αντανακλώντας ένα εύρος ηχητικών αναφορών που φτάνει μέχρι τους δίσκους της ECM Records και τη μεσογειακή jazz. 

Για πάνω από δέκα χρόνια, ο Stéphane Tsapis εξερευνά τις ελληνικές ρίζες του μέσα από διαφορετικά δημιουργικά σχήματα και δισκογραφικές προτάσεις. Παθιασμένος ταξιδευτής, συνθέτης και πιανίστας, με τις συνθέσεις του αλλά και τις αναγνώσεις του σε παραδοσιακά και λαϊκά τραγούδια, χτίζει γέφυρες ανάμεσα στις μεσογειακές καταβολές του και το πολυπολιτισμικό Παρίσι στο οποίο μεγάλωσε. Για την εμφάνιση αυτή, θα πλαισιωθεί σε ένα ιδιαίτερο ντουέτο, από τον κοντραμπασίστα Marc Buronfosse, σταθερό συνεργάτη του και γνώριμο των μουσικών δρώμενων της Πάρου.

"Riza" meet the Stéphane Tsapis Duo: The musical event titled “Mediterranean Roots” will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 21:30, on the stage of the Theater of the Park Ai-Yannis Detis, bringing together two distinctive ensembles that explore the sounds of local and broader Balkan traditions through a modern lens and creative musical trends.

"Riza" (The Roots) arrive with melodies spanning two centuries—tunes and little big stories from the Greek islands to the shores of Asia Minor, from shepherds' pastures to urban salons—offering a reading of traditional music in its most fundamental form: the voice tells the story, the musicians accompany. Their unique sound, with its sparse orchestration and acoustic character, is shaped by Themistocles Karpodinis’s voice, Kostis Zouliatis’s piano, and Petros Lambridis’s double bass, reflecting a wide range of sonic references—from ECM Records to Mediterranean jazz.

For over a decade, Stéphane Tsapis has explored his Greek roots through various creative projects and recordings. A passionate traveler, composer, and pianist, he builds bridges between his Mediterranean heritage and the multicultural Paris where he was raised, through original compositions and reinterpretations of traditional and folk songs. For this performance, he will appear in a special duo with double bassist Marc Buronfosse, his long-time collaborator and a familiar figure in Paros’s music scene.
